“We Cannot See The world As It Is, We Can Only See The World As We Are”

Delighted to be back home from three amazing leadership team workshops in the UK and Morocco and including a fourth workshop in Sydney last week, we launched our new program Changing Minds with Neuroscience to 70 senior leaders.

Changing Minds is the culmination of a year of talking, thinking, and doing since we began the neuroscience hybrid leadership pilot in July 2022.

We grounded Changing Minds in this ancient wisdom: “We cannot see the world as it is, we can only see the world as we are”. From this we framed; that the purpose of our brain is to maintain the gap between as the world is and as we are, close enough for our survival.

Our challenge then is to consciously change ‘as we are’, closing the gap further to success and wellbeing. Our brains were made in a very different place and while they’re incredible, they could do with some help.

Changing Minds is a set of practical tools, informed by neuroscience, that shows leaders the mechanisms of how our minds function, learn, and grow – changing them. And equally valuable to leaders, tools to understand how and how and why our minds resist changing and learning.

The goal is to enable leadership teams to self accelerate their learning and development, to change their own minds and help others meet the world.

A wicked question: Are we entitled to an uninformed opinion at work, today?

We should think about this new fashion; there're consequences we're not aware of.
